Eve Rosenhaft introduces biographical work about Ronald Roberts documenting his life during Nazi Germany and subsequent migration to Britain. The talk explores broader patterns of racial persecution experienced by people of color during the Nazi era, examining "hundreds of men and women of colour – most of dual heritage – who came of age in Nazi Germany" and faced persecution.
The talk contextualizes Roberts' story within scholarship on Black experiences under National Socialism, tracing research and commemoration efforts from the 1980s onward.
